Timeline of Tasks


May – August 2013
We are in the process of reviewing and improving Good Agricultural Practices (GAP’s) and Good Harvesting Practices (GHP’s) for our industry, and will seek input from interested growers.  (These GAP’s and GHP’s will be the foundation of everyone’s Food Safety Plan.)  Once completed, these must be approved by the USDA, and then assembled into a manual. 

September 2013 – January 2014
Workshops to assist growers with writing their individual Food Safety Plans will be held beginning in the fall of 2013. 

December 2013 – March 2014
Workshops to assist growers with their Record Keeping will be held in the winter of 2014. 

April – October 2014  FRUITS
We will conduct mock audits for fruits to give growers an idea of what the USDA audits will be like, and how they will be conducted.

January –March 2015  VEGETABLES
Workshops to assist growers with writing their individual Food Safety Plans and Record Keeping for vegetables will be held beginning in early 2015. 


March - April – October 2015  VEGETABLES

We will conduct mock audits for vegetables to give growers an idea of what the USDA audits will be like, and how they will be conducted.
